1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Moris.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Moris mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Moris is a vocal training and practice application designed to help singers develop their skills through guided exercises, personalized practice routines, vocal assessments, and progress tracking.

By creating an account and affirmatively agreeing to these Terms during registration, you agree to be bound by them. Your use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, available at https://theMorisApp.com/privacy/.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Services.

The Moris iOS application is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, where applicable. These Terms supplement that agreement by establishing additional conditions governing the Moris Services. If a conflict arises concerning the license to use the iOS application, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs that license.

2. Eligibility

Moris is intended for individuals aged 13 and older.

By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and legally permitted to use the Services.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use Moris where required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate accounts that do not meet our eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration and Security

Certain Moris features require an account.

When registering, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your login credentials.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account, except where responsibility cannot legally be assigned to you.

You agree not to share your account credentials in a way that compromises account security or use another person's account without authorization.

If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, please contact us at themorisapp.support@gmail.com.

We may suspend or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Services.

4. Description of the Services

Moris provides tools for vocal practice and skill development.

Depending on the available features, these tools may include:

Features may be modified, improved, discontinued, or replaced over time.

Moris does not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that all features will operate identically across devices.

5. Vocal Health and Educational Disclaimer

Moris is an educational vocal practice tool, not a medical service.

The Services do not provide medical diagnoses, medical treatment, speech-language pathology services, or individualized professional medical advice.

Vocal exercises may involve physical exertion and may not be appropriate for every individual.

You are responsible for practicing within your comfortable vocal limits and exercising reasonable judgment when using the Services.

If you experience pain, persistent discomfort, unusual hoarseness, vocal fatigue, or other concerning symptoms, stop the relevant exercise and consider consulting a qualified healthcare professional or voice specialist.

Do not use Moris as a substitute for professional medical evaluation or treatment.

Moris does not guarantee improvements in vocal range, pitch accuracy, vocal strength, or any other performance measure.

Individual results vary based on numerous factors, including technique, practice habits, physical condition, and experience.

6. Accuracy of Vocal Analysis and Feedback

Moris uses device microphone input and software-based audio analysis to estimate vocal pitch and related performance measurements.

Results may be affected by factors including:

Pitch detection, vocal-range measurements, exercise scores, and other feedback are estimates intended to support practice.

They should not be treated as definitive assessments of vocal ability, medical conditions, or professional singing proficiency.

We do not guarantee that all measurements will be accurate, complete, or suitable for every voice.

7. Microphone Access and Privacy

Certain Moris features require access to your device's microphone.

Moris processes microphone audio locally on your device for real-time vocal analysis. Raw microphone audio is not recorded, uploaded, transmitted, or stored by Moris.

Derived numerical information, including vocal measurements and exercise results, may be saved to your account.

Your use of Moris is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains our data practices, account deletion, and retention of certain diagnostic information.

You can withdraw microphone permission through your device settings, although doing so may limit certain features.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Moris lawfully and in a manner that does not interfere with the Services or other users.

You may not:

We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action, including restricting access, where appropriate.

9. Intellectual Property

Moris and its associated software, interface designs, graphics, exercise arrangements, text, branding, and other original materials are owned by the operator of Moris or their respective licensors, except where otherwise indicated.

Your license to use the iOS application is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, where applicable.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Moris or its intellectual property to you.

You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit protected Moris materials without authorization, except as permitted by applicable law.

You retain ownership of original content you create and submit to Moris, to the extent you hold rights in that content.

You grant Moris a limited, nonexclusive license to host, store, process, and display that content solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, and support the Services.

10. User-Generated Content and Custom Exercises

Moris may allow you to create or save custom exercises, routines, presets, and related configurations.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit or create through the Services does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.

Moris does not claim ownership of your independently created original musical works merely because you use the application to practice or develop them.

We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

11. Availability, Updates, and Changes

We aim to maintain reliable access to Moris but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Services may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, connectivity problems, or circumstances outside our control.

We may release updates, modify functionality, or discontinue features as Moris develops.

Some updates may be necessary to maintain compatibility, security, or continued functionality.

We will provide notice of material changes where required by applicable law.

12. Fees, Subscriptions, and Purchases

Moris may offer certain features free of charge and may introduce optional paid features, purchases, or subscriptions in the future.

If paid offerings are introduced, applicable pricing, billing periods, renewal terms, and cancellation information will be disclosed before purchase.

Purchases made through Apple's App Store will be subject to Apple's applicable payment, subscription-management, and refund processes, together with any additional terms disclosed at purchase.

Nothing in these Terms creates an obligation to purchase paid features.

13. Account Termination and Deletion

You may stop using Moris at any time.

You may delete your account through:

Settings → Account → Delete Account

Deleting your account removes your active authentication account and associated account-linked information from the active application database, subject to the exceptions described in our Privacy Policy.

Previously submitted bug reports and associated diagnostic information may be retained after account deletion. The original account identifier is removed from those retained reports, although the remaining information may not necessarily be anonymous.

Certain information may also persist temporarily in backups or logs or be retained where permitted or required by law.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of material violations of these Terms, security threats, unlawful activity, or other legitimate operational reasons, subject to applicable law.

14. Third-Party Services

Moris relies on third-party technology providers, including Supabase for authentication and backend database functionality.

The availability and operation of certain features may depend on those providers and on your device, operating system, and internet connection.

Third-party services may be governed by their own applicable terms and privacy practices.

Moris is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused solely by third-party systems to the extent permitted by applicable law.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Moris is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We make no guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for every individual's training needs.

We do not warrant any particular improvement in singing ability, vocal range, performance, or health.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Moris will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Services.

This includes, where legally permitted, losses relating to interrupted access, inaccurate performance measurements, loss of data, or reliance on exercise feedback.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability arising from conduct for which applicable law prohibits such limitations.

The enforceability of these limitations depends on applicable law.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Services will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the jurisdictional requirements governing the dispute.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, business practices, legal requirements, or other relevant circumstances.

The "Last Updated" date will indicate the most recent revision.

When required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain appropriate agreement before material changes take effect.

Continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective may constitute acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
